To My Mom

I forgot to send a card...again!

I know you don't hold it against me because at one point in time you were in very similar shoes to mine, but I do want you to know that just because I forgot the card it doesn't mean I forgot you. I think of you and thank God for you many times each day.... When I am up in the middle of the night dragging my feet across the hardwood floor because someone is up...I think of you and thank God for you because I know I kept you up at night. When I am drinking my morning coffee and running around the kitchen getting breakfast together...I think of you and thank God for you because I long for the days that I can share morning coffee with you and chat about life. When I feel overwhelmed by all of the dirty dishes, laundry, and toys on the floor...I think of you and thank God for you because you lovingly cared for our home and showed me what it looks like to care more about my children then the mess in my house. When I am cooking in the kitchen and preparing meals (5+ times a day :)... I think of you and thank God for you because I never went hungry and you took the time to teach me and pass down your love for cooking to me. When I am exhausted and my day is dragging... I think of you and thank God for you because I know that you made it through so I know I can too. When I am playing with my kids and trying to ingrain every laugh and every silly memory into my head...I think of you and thank God for you because you created a fun and playful environment to live in. When my husband comes home from a long day at work and instead of running out the door because the kids are driving me crazy, I stop and ask my husband how I can serve him...I think of you and thank God for you because you showed me what it looks like to Biblically love my husband well.  

I could keep going but I will stop there. Thank you for being the perfect mom for me and setting a wonderful example as I raise my boys.  I hope you know just how much you are loved and how thankful I am that I got you as my mom!
