Today is the first day of Advent! Does that make anyone else giddy?
Join me through this advent season as we look back at the birth of our Savior through the light of God's redemptive plan.
Today, I want to encourage you to read through Isaiah 9:6-7 tonight before you go to bed or maybe read it to your kids as you put them to bed. After reading it, I urge you to spend some time thinking through the names that are given in these verses. Wonderful Councilor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Which of these names means the most to you and why? Which name do you find most meaningful to you in your current season of life?
I then encourage you to spend time praying the names Isaiah gave to Jesus and praise God for each one of them.
There are so many things that I can talk about when it comes to the amazing weekend I had at Refresh Summit. I could rave about the awesome sponsors, the country Zumba glow party, or even the awesome workshops that I got to attend, but I want to take a few minutes and talk to you about what God was up to in my heart at Refresh.
Let’s go back to the summer months leading up to Refresh Summit first. It has been an interesting year for my family and I knew that we did not have the financial means for me to buy a ticket for Refresh this year. I started texting and talking to my good friend Bobbi about how I was praying for a way to attend Refresh but also praying that God would prepare my heart to be ok with not attending this year. I found myself craving the refreshment and intentional time away from the everyday things of life that I had experienced the last two years while attending Refresh Summit.
